The Brand
Haven Holidays operates caravan, touring and camping facilities across 37 predominantly coastal UK locations. Owned by Bourne Leisure — a longstanding Airwave partner — the Haven estate ranges from the Scottish Highlands to the Norfolk Broads, with Golden Sands in Mablethorpe among its flagship resorts.
The Resort
Golden Sands sits on miles of Lincolnshire coastline, a short drive from the seaside town of Cleethorpes. It’s a proper seaside operation: hundreds of holiday homes, multiple restaurants, and enough activity areas that guests navigate the site by pedal cart. With that volume of visitors moving across a large and busy site, clear guest communication isn’t incidental to the experience — it’s central to it.
The Project
Airwave was brought in to install a digital signage system across the resort’s Activity Hub, providing flexible, well-managed communication across both indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Technology
With Philips signage already deployed across the Bourne Leisure estate, the choice of hardware was straightforward. What varied was the environment.
Outside the Activity Centre, a 55-inch Philips BDL3202H H-Line display was installed onto a fence in an Armagard weatherproof housing — rated IP56, operational between -30°C and 50°C, and built for the kind of coastal exposure that would finish a standard screen quickly. At 2500 nits, it holds its own in direct daylight.
Indoors, 43 and 55-inch Philips BDL4050D D-Line displays handle the interior spaces. Android-powered and FHD, they run cleanly under Otrum signage software — the same platform Airwave has deployed across multiple Bourne Leisure sites — giving the resort team straightforward control over what’s displayed, when, and where.
The Golden Sands installation is part of a wider rollout across the Haven estate, with similar systems now operational at Caister-On-Sea, Hopton, Wild Duck, Seashore, Lakeland and Craigtara.
