The New Forest. The Full Picture.
How do you deliver a truly modern, watch what you want, when you want guest experience in a hotel where the setting is the star — and the technology needs to blend into the background?
The Hotel
The Brief
Lime Wood required a complete, end-to-end in-room entertainment system. This encompassed new televisions, a centralised content management platform, a casting solution, full TV reception infrastructure, Sky Select headend commissioning, and integration with the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS).
The brief called for a system that would feel seamless and intuitive to guests, simple to manage operationally, and built for the future.
The Solution
Airwave delivered a fully integrated in-room entertainment solution across 52 guestrooms, built around the Uniguest HUB TV platform — a centralised CMS-driven system that gives guests a clean, intuitive on-screen environment from the moment they turn on the TV.
The television estate comprises a mix of Samsung commercial hospitality displays across three screen sizes — 15 x 32″, 31 x 43″, and 6 x 50″ — selected to suit the varying room configurations across the property. All sets are commercial-grade Samsung HG Series, carrying a three-year warranty as standard.
The Uniguest HUB TV interface provides guests with:
- Live TV channels via a full multiday EPG
- Hotel information pages, including QR code functionality, restaurant and bar menus and local area guidance
- A Messaging service
- Access to the hotel’s PMS-linked personalisation features, enabling a tailored in-room experience from check-in
Sitting alongside HUB TV, Airwave deployed a Google Cast (Chromecast) solution across the property, allowing guests to cast their own content — Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV and beyond — directly to the room screen. The casting infrastructure includes a Uniguest CAST Router and individual Chromecast dongles, security-bracketed and fully integrated with the existing TV setup.
Behind the scenes, Airwave delivered a complete TV reception and signal distribution infrastructure, providing consistent, reliable signal across the entire property. This included a satellite dish, high-gain eight-bay UHF terrestrial antenna, and a structured cabling and distribution network throughout the building. A full Sky Select headend was also installed and commissioned, enabling a suite of premium Sky channels to be distributed across guest rooms from a single centralised point (no need for individual hardware at each TV point.)
Finally, the platform was integrated with the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS), enabling guest-specific personalisation and streamlined operational management.
